Deacon’s Bidding Prayers February 1st, 2015
The deacons of our diocese bid your prayers:
For an end to gun violence in our homes, schools, and communities. For those who mourn the people killed in last week’s shootings in North Omaha.
For the survivors of Auschwitz as we remember the 70th anniversary of their liberation. For us to have ears to hear their pleas to learn and remember the lessons of history.
For travelers, those who work outdoors, and those without shelter in the cold.
For people and animals suffering the effects of droughts or extreme heat.
For the land, water, and air that sustain life. For all those advocating for policies that preserve our environment. For wisdom, compassion, and courage for all those who have the power to lead us in making the changes we need to make now.
For peace in the Middle East. For all those who stand in harm’s way in this region.
For the sick; for those with influenza, pneumonia, and other diseases that are widespread in the United States this winter, and for those who care for them.
For the unemployed and underemployed.
For the people of South Sudan, especially our sisters and brothers of the Diocese of Twic East.
