Deacon’s Bidding Prayers July 18th 2014
The deacons of our diocese bid your prayers:
For peace in all of the Middle East, and especially for an end to the recent violence in Gaza and Israel.
For the people of South Sudan, and especially for our sisters and brothers of the Diocese of Twic East.
For the families, friends, and colleagues of those who died on Malaysian Airlines Flight 17, and for all those impacted by the loss of these lives and the discord and violence in the Ukraine.
For refugees, especially unaccompanied children and families with young children, that they might find the safety and security they seek and compassionate people to help them. For openness and compassion to replace fear.
For an end to gun violence in the United States, and for the will to set aside the selfish desires and idols that keep us from doing everything possible to create a safer society.
For all those affected this week by typhoons, wildfires, and flooding. For people working to rebuild communities after tornadoes and hailstorms.
For all God’s creatures who live in the sea or on land. For all those whose homes, livelihoods, and welfare are already affected or endangered by the impacts of climate change. For wisdom, courage, and compassion to face our reality and respond appropriately to climate change now and in years ahead.
