Proclaiming the Good News of God in Christ

Deacon’s Bidding Prayers November 22, 2013

Jesus Stained Glass Religious Stock Image Each week, the deacons of the Diocese of Nebraska invite everyone to join us in praying for the needs, hopes, concerns, and joys of the world beyond our immediate circles of family, friends, and parish. Deacons are invited to send biddings for prayers for the world to by Thursday noon for each week’s gathering of biddings.

The deacons of our diocese bid your prayers:

For peace in our communities and for the wisdom and courage to find a way to end gun violence in this country.

For the people of the Philippines in the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan. For aid workers. For policy makers around the world to find compassion for those suffering the immediate effects of climate change.

For the people on the island of Sardinia who have been displaced by flooding after a cyclone.

For those without adequate food or shelter as the weather turns colder and for those who minister to them.

For all those known and unknown who have been killed in wars around the world, especially Lance Cpl. Christopher Grant of Richwood, Louisiana, killed the week of October 10.
