Jesus Stained Glass Religious Stock Image Each week, the deacons of the Diocese of Nebraska invite everyone to join us in praying for the needs, hopes, concerns, and joys of the world beyond our immediate circles of family, friends, and parish. Deacons are invited to send biddings for prayers for the world to deaconbetsy@windstream.net by Thursday noon for each week’s gathering of biddings.

The deacons of our diocese bid your prayers:

For an end to gun violence in our homes, schools, and communities.

For the unemployed and underemployed.

For those in need; for the hungry, the homeless, the lonely, and the frightened. For those who minister to their needs.

For people in Albania, Greece, and other places experiencing flooding.

For people and animals suffering the effects of droughts or extreme heat.

For peace in the Middle East. For all those who stand in harm’s way in this region.

For the sick; for those with influenza, pneumonia, and other diseases that are widespread in the United States this winter, and for those who care for them.

For the people of South Sudan, especially our sisters and brothers of the Diocese of Twic East.

For travelers, those who work outdoors, and those without shelter in the cold.

For people and animals suffering the effects of droughts or extreme heat.

For the land, water, and air that sustain life. For all those advocating for policies that preserve our environment. For wisdom, compassion, and courage for all those who have the power to lead us in making the changes we need to make now.

For peace in the Middle East. For all those who stand in harm’s way in this region.

For the sick; for those with influenza, pneumonia, and other diseases that are widespread in the United States this winter, and for those who care for them.

For the unemployed and underemployed.

For the people of South Sudan, especially our sisters and brothers of the Diocese of Twic East.
